Liberte Sales Agent Sentenced

November 11, 2003

A California man who bilked 18 investors of more than $1.4 million when he sold them fraudulent policies provided by Liberte Capital Group will be sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in state prison. The terms of his sentencing were reached through plea bargain.

Roger Sande, 67, of Shasta County, California was charged with 38 felony counts. He admitted responsibility for the loss of retirement funds of many senior citizens. His associate, Scott Allan Moody, 42, also faces felony securities fraud charges. His trial is tentatively set for February, 2004.

The case against Sande and Moody began in 2001.
